Many will think that the statement made by Maxis CEO, Sandip Das yesterday is a good sign that Maxis will bring the iPhone 3G to Malaysia soon.
We’re not too convince.
We do believe Maxis and Apple are talking to each other but we don’t think that any decision has been made thus far.
What’s interesting is that we don’t think supply is the real issue as to why Maxis has yet to make an official announcement. Rather, we think Maxis doesn’t see Apple’s unconventional business model favourable to make bringing the iPhone 3G to Malaysia a profitable product offering.

For the record, we would love for Maxis to prove us wrong and make the 200 plus petitioners who’ve already signed the online petition happy. All Maxis need to do is announce that the rumour is actually true.
Send in your support now. Together, we will make it happen!
