First Malaysian Insider hinted that Maxis might be bringing in the iPhone 3G to Malaysia for below RM1000.
We thought that it’s all hogwash .
Well apparently The Edge Daily thinks the rumour holds some water and published a story on it. It’s an interesting read but Maxis are still tight lipped on the rumour.
We are still skeptical about this but Maxis or any other local telco are welcomed to prove us wrong. Well we guess we’ll have to just wait and see.

I Spoke to Several Maxis reps, and they had no idea what i was talking about, then i spoke to a clerk at one of the outlets and he told me that it was true Maxis is indeed bringing out the Iphone, he just didnt have any information, to get more you’d need to go down to Taman Tun or KLCC, walk into their Maxis HQ and try and find out.
Malaysia, allthough, is not listed as one of the countrys due to receive Iphones as a proper service, closest place would be Singapore.
SoyaCincau says [080716/1739]: As much as we would like to think that this rumour is true, we don’t have concrete evidence to suggest that it is. We are aching to get an official announcement from Maxis.
Let’s hope they will say something soon

Dont be silly. Msia is such a corruption country.
Those pig holds the power to rules whether to bring in i Phone 3g to Msia. Do u think those corruption pig will offer u cheap cheap price below RM1k? Damn it. I guess they at least fry the price up to 2 or 3k.
In singapore i-phone was chained by Singtel. selling 7 to 8 hundred with normal plan man.
As we all know singapore phone is much more cheaper than msia. here selling close to 1k with plan, msia can get below rm1k? i’ll chop off my turtle head if so!! unless the plan ask u to pay few hundred bucks monthly.
It happens in singapore, phone is free if u sign up a $205 plan for 2 years.

OK guys.
Firstly, i m not a i-phone haters. Am a advertising designer who use mac always. I love i-phone interface design. But i seriously dont get wat so hip about i-phone 3g.
Let me list simply list down the good and bad on iPhone 3g ad u guys compare.
I scartch my head hards to think for this 10 good reason why we should owned an i-phone 3g!
But i can simply mention to u guys over 30 bad points tht u might know or apple hide away from you.
Let check out the good point 1st:
1st, The revolutionary interface. Multi touch screen which has changed the way you used to use mobile phones. No competitor has come closer to this feature.
2nd, 3.5 inch screen which would make watching a movie more fun then ever.
3rd, The original power of iPod — an awesome personal music system which can blast your ears.
4th, It supports Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, delivering push email, calendar, and contacts.
5th, Email on iPhone offers a viewing experience unlike any other mobile device. With support for Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, PDF, JPEG, and now iWork, attachments can be viewed exactly as they were designed to be.
6th, App Store allows you to find and buy applications for your need.
7th, The ambient light sensor in iPhone automatically adjusts the brightness of the display according to lights around you.
8th. When you lift iPhone to your ear, the proximity sensor immediately turns off the display to save power and prevent inadvertent touches.
9th, When you rotate iPhone from portrait to landscape, its accelerometer detects the movement and changes the display accordingly.
10th, Well, it is really really PRETTY! LOVELY! Well designed platform! Stylish! Trendy! And more or less bcoz ot the Apple Branding! A big WOW for it.

Now checkout something u should know before u own an i-phone? Hope my opinion helps.
1st, 2mp camera. which is outdate, low resolutions, crampy.. iPhone will make you feel like you’ve gone back in time a few years. The camera lens is poor, its white-balance settings are dreadful.
2nd, No flash & No ISO adjustment. cant shot picture in low-lighting environment.
3rd, No autofocus, No stabilizer on cam.
4th, No fwd sms. all sms ppl send u will stop at ur hand. unless u r happy to retype and text over again.
5th, No multiple receptions, if u wan fwd sms.. fwd 1 by 1..
6th, No cut and paste fucntion. Apple expect we all user retype all stuff, if wrong cant able to cut and paste.. and send it 1 by 1 if u got some annoucement or fwd jokes sms.
7th, No user replace-able battery. i phone comes with build in battery tht extremely hard to open by 3rd party. Eventually you will have to go to Apple and deposite your iPhone to get its battery replaced. The phone only cost 199 in US, but cost 80 US to replace the battery.. Malaysia.. i dont dare to imagine. If u r staying in muar, melaka.. or somewhere which dun have apple store.. who u have to send to? mobile shop? extra charges apply.
8th, Impractical travel cost. if u travel around with ur iphone, u can kill urself with ur data bill. only good if u have ur local data unlimited plan.
9th, NO MMS!!!!!!!!! want picture? browse online to check ur email. Cost apply for downloads.
10th, NOTHING! the phones comes empty. u gotta i tunes and download games and application etc.
11th, OS wasnt stable. RAM wasnt enough. lag somehow and quit ur application automatically if u gaming sometimes. u can notice apple hide this from u guys. not believe? check all apple websites, see which of it provides u the RAM specs. All finished interface was build to make u love the screen so much.. but guess how much it had eaten your RAM space once u ON your i-phone? How much RAM does a phone have to compare with a computer?
12th, No adobe flash support. check out Steve Jobs demonstrating the web browser on the iPhone. When he views The New York Times, up pops the ‘missing flash’ icon.
13th, No instant messaging. no msn chat, google talk.. icq.. which u expect frm a smart phone movile device.
14th, No voiced, 3D turn-by-turn navigation. No 3D Map. U watch yourself as a little dot on the map. U will crash!!
15th, No charging using i-pod charger. Diffrent voltage. Therefore, u may not able to connect ur i-phone to ur car stereo even using i-pod car adapter r cassette connector.
16th, Bluetooth. Stupid enough as it is just connect to the headset. No need mention, no bluetooth car stereo for u, no files transfer.
17th, No Video Recording. Forget bout ur happy hours moment. All gone, with no videos, lousy still camera.
18th, No side button for camera. Girls, hardly u can have your self portrait anymore. The snap button was in the screen. Just small icon. U gotta hit it right in order to snap.
19th, No front camera.. No 3g call for u. And it is still call iphone 3g!!!
20th, No wider codec support. AVI/DivX/Xvid remain a distant dream…
21st, No more free dock like iphone 2G. Wan it? buy it.
22nd, No editing documents. read only applications. Stop dreaming if u wan iphone to be your computer like other smart phone does.
23rd, No additional / expansion storage. 8 or 16gb at your choice. Think well before u buy.
24th, No landscape keyboard across the iPhone board in every app. Expect ur own finger to be narrow enough. If u have fat fingers like i do, chop it off!!
25th, A perfect gloss finish back. SO-called. It is more slippery compare with iphone 2g. Yet, from metal to plastic. It is a downgrade. Ur phone will be all-times dirty full with finger prints.
26th, Cant be a 3G modem. Almost every phone out there can be hooked to a laptop and act as a GPRS/EDGE/3G/HSDPA modem. I-phone said “No”
27th, Battery Sucks. I’m using the word “suck” on purpose. You can almost watch the battery drain in real time. Yeah, 24 hours music playback. Hooray!!! Normal use? Less than 48 hours. Normal use means only phones talk, messaging and a little gaming without browsing online.
28th, 3G reception is awful.. this is another way round cause your battery ‘sucks’
29th, In-store activation. Means u gotta chained-up urself with a service provider to get this phone. Common!!
30th, Too expensive to own. Steve promises it won’t cost more than US$199 in ‘any’ country. See what happen in singapore now.. Yes, pay SGD$205 everymonth for 24 months and u can have ur phone free. It is just installment to pay along with ur service provider’s bill. Malaysia? Ha ha!!

In my opinion, in the market now. I found Samsung OMNIA works much more better than i-phone instead. U guys should consider. Dont buy thing becoz of the Hip or ‘wow’.
Owning an i phone 3g to me is like having an owesome pretty hot chic celebrity girlfriend who doesnt do much thing for me.
I m aiming for OMNIA now, it just let me feels like going to own a girlfriend who is in decent look yet sexy. Perform well in bed, listen to me, take good care of me and my children, do me everything i expected! hahaha..
Guys! stop dreaming and got brainwash by advertising. I phone rather crappy becoz all the money had been throw to advertise to let u guys believe i-phone is the mightiest phone, best phone in the world, its a trend, a wow!!! ur everything!! must buy!!

Well another way round, if it is seriously less than RM1k in Msia without any plans / contracts. Then no harm owning the i-phone 3g. As is works much like i-pod touch anyway. If it is beyond the price of RM1.5k, just forget it man…

Title: Cool down Malaysian. iPhone 3G is not a features phone. Buy later.
I am a Mac user and love it so much. I supported Apple products from iWork 06 to iWork 08; from Tiger to Leopard.
However, for iPhone or iPhone 3G will be from something to nothing!!!
I agreed with Someone posted his/her comments on Apple cool product: the iPhone 3G. The iPhone so called has everything but miss out lot of essential features such as MMS, Forward SMS, and file transfer through bluetooth.
In my opinions, I just wanna cut my statement short, I have 2 advices to Apple:
1st: By strict control over the features that a “smartphone” suppose to have it will turn the iPhone from “intelligent Phone ” to an “irritated Phone”. Apple shall give back what users are paying for.
2nd: Do not repeat the same mistake by trying to monopolize the market. People loves your cool and innovative ideas, but you shall learnt from the past. Listen to what people need NOT what you want.

I own Nokia Tube since January 2009 and bought it at RM1299.00. Untill now, It SATISFIED me. I enjoy music most when I Connect it to Logitech Z5500. Awesome!!! Compare to Iphone 3G, by looking the spec, I might feel live in jungle with it.
